Target intelligence / Profile preview
The tumor cell apoptosis pathway refers to the molecular mechanisms by which cancer (tumor) cells undergo programmed cell death. Dysregulation of these pathways allows tumor cells to evade death and continue proliferating. Key pathways include the intrinsic (mitochondrial) and extrinsic (death receptor-mediated) pathways. Many anticancer therapies aim at reactivating these pathways.
Various, including induction of DNA damage, inhibition of anti-apoptotic proteins, and activation of death receptors.
