Tumor cell lysis via oncolytic Maraba virus infection

Molecular classification
Biological process, Viral therapy, Immunotherapy
01

Overview

Tumor cell lysis via oncolytic Maraba virus infection refers to the targeted destruction of cancer cells by the Maraba virus, primarily the MG1 strain. This process leverages both direct viral-mediated killing of tumor cells and stimulation of anti-tumor immune responses, converting immunologically "cold" tumors into "hot" ones. It involves selective viral replication within cancer cells, release of tumor antigens and DAMPs, activation of dendritic cells and NK cells, and induction of cytotoxic T-cell responses. It can be used alone or in combination with other therapies like immune checkpoint inhibitors.
