Tumor cell metabolic activity refers to the distinctive alterations in cellular metabolism that occur in cancer cells compared to normal cells. These changes are driven by genetic mutations and environmental factors within the tumor microenvironment, resulting in increased uptake and utilization of nutrients such as glucose, amino acids, and lipids. This reprogramming supports rapid proliferation, survival under stress conditions, and resistance to therapy.
