Tumor idiotype immunoglobulin refers to the unique antigenic determinants (idiotopes) present in the variable regions of immunoglobulins expressed on the surface of malignant B-cell clones. Each B-cell tumor (such as lymphoma or multiple myeloma) produces an immunoglobulin with a distinct idiotype reflecting its unique rearranged variable region sequence. These idiotypes are highly specific tumor-associated antigens that can be recognized by anti-idiotype antibodies or T cells and have been widely studied as targets for personalized cancer immunotherapy, including vaccines and antibody-based therapeutics. The idiotype is considered the only true tumor-specific antigen in B-cell malignancies due to its clonality and absence on normal cells, making it an attractive though technically challenging target for precision immunotherapy[1][4][6].
