Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are a subset of white blood cells, primarily T cells and B cells, that have migrated into tumor tissue. They play a crucial role in recognizing and killing cancer cells within the tumor microenvironment. TIL therapy involves isolating, expanding, and reinfusing these lymphocytes to enhance the patient's anti-tumor immune response. High TIL density and activation are often associated with better prognosis in certain cancers.
