Tumor necrosis factor alpha-induced protein 8 (TNFAIP8) is a cytoplasmic and nucleoplasmic protein containing a death effector domain (DED) that acts as a negative regulator of apoptosis, primarily by inhibiting caspase-8 activity and thereby blocking the progression of programmed cell death[3][6]. TNFAIP8 is a key member of the TIPE family, widely expressed in immune organs, gastrointestinal tissues, and various other tissues, and is implicated in the modulation of inflammatory and immune responses[1][5].
