As a biomarker, TNFAIP8 levels are considered prognostic and may inform patient selection or therapeutic strategies targeting apoptotic pathways or inflammation in malignancy and immune-related diseases[2][4][5].
For drugs like cisplatin: TNFAIP8 modulates resistance by inhibiting apoptosis and enhancing DNA repair processes, thereby promoting cell proliferation and drug resistance in tumor cells[8]. Inhibition or silencing of TNFAIP8 reactivates apoptosis (via caspase-3/8 activation), cell cycle arrest, and decreases proliferation[2][8].
