Tumor Necrosis Factor Ligand Superfamily Member 8 (TNFSF8)

Target
TNFSF8
Molecular classification
Type II transmembrane glycoprotein, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member, Ligand
01

Overview

CD30 Ligand (CD30L), also known as TNFSF8 or CD153, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand superfamily. It is primarily expressed on activated T cells, B cells, monocytes/macrophages, and certain dendritic cells. CD30L binds to its receptor, CD30 (TNFRSF8), to mediate a range of immunological effects, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The CD30/CD30L axis plays a significant role in Hodgkin lymphoma and other hematopoietic malignancies, as well as inflammatory diseases, making it a therapeutic target. There is evidence for reverse signaling.
