Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Type 2 (TNFR2)

Target
TNFR2
Molecular classification
Receptor, Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily, Type I transmembrane protein
01

Overview

Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Type 2 (TNFR2) is a type I transmembrane protein and a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is one of two main receptors for TNFα. TNFR2 plays a role in immune regulation, tissue protection, and can have both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects depending on the context. It is highly expressed on myeloid cells, Tregs, and some T-cell/B-cell subsets. TNFR2 is being investigated as a therapeutic target in cancer immunotherapy and autoimmune diseases.
