Overview

Tumor neoantigens are novel protein fragments that arise from genetic alterations in tumor cells. Presented on the surface of cancer cells by MHC molecules, they can be recognized as "non-self" by the immune system, making them attractive targets for cancer immunotherapy.

Mechanism of action

Recognition by T cell receptors on cytotoxic T lymphocytes, leading to targeted killing of cancer cells expressing specific neoantigen-MHC complexes.
