Tumor neovasculature endothelial cells (ECs) are specialized endothelial cells that line the blood vessels newly formed within tumors. These cells are distinct from normal vascular ECs in both structure and function, playing a central role in tumor progression, metastasis, and response to therapy. They form abnormal, fragile, and leaky vessels, promoting tumor growth by supplying oxygen and nutrients and providing routes for metastatic dissemination. Targeting these cells is a universal strategy in cancer therapy.
