Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tumor protein D52-like 3 (TPD52L3) is a member of the tumor protein D52-like family characterized by an N-terminal coiled-coil motif, which mediates homo- and heteromeric complex formation with other family members. It is encoded by the TPD52L3 gene located on chromosome 9p24.1. Expression of TPD52L3 is more restricted compared to other family members and has been suggested to play a role in spermatogenesis. There is some evidence, mostly indirect and from studies of paralogs in the family, for involvement in intracellular lipid storage and possibly cancer phenotypes, but TPD52L3 itself is not widely established as a direct therapeutic target or biomarker at present[3][1][4][7].
