A tumor-specific antigen-presenting cell (APC) refers to a cell that processes and displays antigens derived specifically from tumor cells on its surface, typically via major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. This presentation is crucial for the activation of T cells and the initiation of an adaptive immune response against cancer. Professional APCs include dendritic cells, macrophages, and B lymphocytes; these are specialized in priming antigen-specific T cell responses.
