Target intelligence / Profile preview
The tumor-specific immunoglobulin idiotype antigen refers to the unique set of antigenic determinants found in the variable regions of immunoglobulins expressed on the surface of malignant B cells. It serves as a highly specific marker for that particular cancer clone and is a target for personalized cancer vaccines or antibody therapies.
Monoclonal anti-idiotype antibodies induce tumor regression; active vaccination with patient-specific Id proteins induces polyclonal immune responses.
