A tumor-specific mutant antigen, often referred to as a tumor-specific antigen (TSA) or neoantigen, is a molecule—typically a protein or peptide—that arises from genetic mutations unique to cancer cells. These antigens are not present in normal, healthy cells and are generated by somatic mutations in the DNA of tumor cells. As such, they can be recognized by the immune system as "non-self," making them attractive targets for cancer immunotherapy.
