Tumor-specific mutant peptide-MHC complex (neoantigen-MHC complex)

neoantigen-MHC complex
Molecular classification
MHC Class I complex, MHC Class II complex, Peptide-MHC complex, Cell Surface Receptor Complex
01

Overview

A tumor-specific mutant peptide-MHC complex is a molecular structure formed when a major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecule presents a peptide derived from a tumor-specific mutation (neoantigen) on the surface of a cell. These complexes are central to immune recognition of cancer cells, as they allow T cells to distinguish and target malignant cells based on their unique, mutation-derived peptides. They are key targets for personalized cancer immunotherapies, including neoantigen vaccines and adoptive T cell therapies.
