Tumor-specific neoantigen peptide

Molecular classification
Peptide, Antigen
01

Overview

Tumor-specific neoantigen peptides (TSNs) are short protein fragments arising from somatic mutations unique to tumor cells. These peptides, not present in normal tissues, result from genomic alterations like SNVs, indels, and gene fusions. Presented on the tumor cell surface by MHC molecules, they are recognized by T cell receptors (TCRs), eliciting strong, specific immune responses, making them ideal targets for cancer immunotherapy. Identification involves next-generation sequencing, bioinformatic prediction of MHC binding, and experimental validation of expression and presentation.
