Tumor-Specific Neoantigen Peptide Antigens (Neoantigens)

Target
Neoantigens
Molecular classification
Peptide, Antigen
01

Overview

Tumor-specific neoantigen peptide antigens are unique peptides derived from mutated proteins found only in tumor cells. These neoantigens are presented on the cell surface by MHC molecules and can be recognized by T cells, triggering an immune response against the tumor. They are promising targets for personalized cancer immunotherapies due to their tumor specificity and potential to elicit strong anti-tumor immunity.

Mechanism of action

Neoantigens are presented by MHC molecules on tumor cells and recognized by T cell receptors, leading to T cell activation and tumor cell lysis. Personalized vaccines prime the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing specific neoantigens. Adoptive cell therapy uses engineered T cells to target neoantigen-MHC complexes.
