Tumor-Specific Shared Neoantigen (Shared Neoantigen)

Target
Shared Neoantigen
Molecular classification
Peptide, Antigen, MHC-binding peptide
01

Overview

A tumor-specific shared neoantigen is a mutated peptide antigen that arises from somatic alterations in cancer cells and is present across multiple patients with the same or similar mutations, but absent from normal tissues. These neoantigens are displayed on the surface of tumor cells bound to MHC molecules, where they can be recognized by T cell receptors (TCRs), triggering an immune response specifically against the tumor. Targeting shared neoantigens offers a promising strategy for off-the-shelf cancer vaccines or engineered T-cell therapies.
