Tumor Suppressor Candidate 2 (TUSC2) is a protein encoded by the TUSC2 gene, located on human chromosome 3p21.3. It functions as a tumor suppressor and plays critical roles in regulating cell growth, apoptosis, immune function, and mitochondrial calcium homeostasis. Loss of TUSC2 is associated with increased risk of cancer and autoimmune diseases, as well as premature aging phenotypes. TUSC2 gene therapy has been tested clinically for non-small cell lung cancer.
