Tumor suppressor candidate 2 protein (TUSC2)

Target
TUSC2
Molecular classification
Tumor Suppressor Protein, Mitochondrial Protein, Ca2+/myristoyl switch-like protein
01

Overview

TUSC2 is a mitochondrial tumor suppressor protein that induces G1 cell cycle arrest and promotes apoptosis. It also regulates mitochondrial calcium homeostasis, modulates oxidative stress, and influences kinase activity. Loss or downregulation of TUSC2 is associated with various cancers, particularly lung cancer and mesothelioma. Therapeutic strategies involve restoring TUSC2 expression through nanoparticle-mediated delivery.
