TVP23B pseudogene 2 (TVP23BP2)

Target
TVP23BP2
01

Overview

TVP23B pseudogene 2 (TVP23BP2) is a non-functional genomic sequence that shares significant sequence homology with the protein-coding gene TVP23B, but does not produce a functional protein product. Pseudogenes such as TVP23BP2 generally arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and are incapable of encoding active proteins. Therefore, TVP23BP2 is not considered a therapeutic target and has no documented role in molecular classification, biological function, disease association, drug interaction, mechanism of drug action, biomarker status, or safety concern. For functional and therapy-relevant information, reference should be made to the protein-coding TVP23B gene, which encodes the trans-Golgi network vesicle protein 23 homolog B, a membrane protein involved in vesicle transport and intestinal homeostasis[2][3][5][8].
