Twinfilin 1 pseudogene 2 (TWF1P2) is classified as a pseudogene—a genomic DNA sequence similar to functional genes but generally non-functional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements necessary for expression[6]. It is related to the twinfilin gene family, which includes genes involved in actin filament dynamics, but TWF1P2 does not encode a functional protein. As a pseudogene, TWF1P2 does not participate in recognized molecular pathways and does not have known biological or disease relevance, nor is it targeted by drugs. Its alternative name is A6ps2. There is no robust evidence for any protein, functional RNA, or disease association derived from TWF1P2. It should not be considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target[6][9]. The functional twinfilins (such as TWF1 and TWF2) are actin-binding proteins with well-established roles in cytoskeletal regulation, but TWF1P2 is not one of them[1][2][4][5][6][7]. GeneCards and other databases categorize TWF1P2 strictly as a pseudogene with no known protein product or biological function[6]. There is no evidence supporting TWF1P2 as a drug target or its involvement in disease pathogenesis or therapy[6]. TWF1P2 (Twinfilin 1 pseudogene 2) is a non-functional genetic element (“pseudogene”) derived from the twinfilin gene family and does not encode a functional receptor, protein, or other canonical target.
