Type I Interferon Pathway (None)

Target
None
Molecular classification
Cytokine signaling, Interferons
01

Overview

The Type I interferon (IFN) pathway is a critical component of the innate immune response, primarily responsible for antiviral defense, immunoregulation, and modulation of inflammation. Type I IFNs are a family of cytokines that bind to the type I interferon receptor (IFNAR), activating the JAK/STAT pathway and inducing the expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs). Dysregulation or chronic activation of this pathway is implicated in autoimmune diseases, making it a therapeutic target.
