Type I Alpha-Interferon Receptor (IFNAR)

Target
IFNAR
Molecular classification
Receptor, Cytokine Receptor, Type I Cytokine Receptor
01

Overview

The type I alpha-interferon receptor (IFNAR) is a heterodimeric cell surface receptor complex that mediates the biological effects of all type I interferons (IFNs), including IFN-α and IFN-β. It consists of IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 subunits. Ligand binding activates the JAK/STAT signaling pathway, leading to antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory responses.
