Overview

Type I Interferon Receptor Subunit 2 (IFNAR2) is a type I membrane protein and one of the two essential chains of the receptor complex for type I interferons. Upon ligand binding, the IFNAR1/IFNAR2 complex activates the JAK/STAT pathway, leading to the expression of interferon-stimulated genes involved in antiviral defense and immune modulation. Dysregulation or genetic variation can impact susceptibility to viral infections or autoimmune diseases. Modulation of type I interferon signaling has therapeutic implications across infectious disease, oncology, autoimmunity, and inflammatory disorders.
