PcrV is a protein component of the type III secretion system (T3SS) in *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*. It is located at the tip of the T3SS needle complex and plays a critical role in facilitating the integration of pore-forming proteins into eukaryotic cell membranes, which is essential for translocation of bacterial cytotoxins into host cells. Inhibitors or binders targeting PcrV can block formation or function of the T3SS translocon pore, thereby preventing toxin delivery and reducing bacterial virulence without directly killing bacteria.
