Tyrosine kinase expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (TEC) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that belongs to the Tec family of kinases. It is preferentially expressed in the liver and is involved in signal transduction pathways related to cell growth, differentiation, and immune function. Increased expression of TEC has been observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), suggesting its involvement in hepatocarcinogenesis. TEC also plays a role in regulating the pluripotency and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells. While no specific clinical inhibitors exist yet, it's a potential target in cancer therapy.
