TYRO3, also known as Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor TYRO3, is a member of the TAM (TYRO3, AXL, MER) family of receptor tyrosine kinases. It functions as a cell surface receptor that transduces extracellular signals into intracellular responses upon ligand binding. It plays critical roles in several physiological processes including cell survival, proliferation, migration, differentiation, neuron protection, platelet aggregation, immunoregulation, and viral entry. Overexpression or aberrant activation has been linked to various cancers.
No specific TYRO3-targeted drugs are currently approved or available clinically. Research continues into TAM-family inhibitors.
