U-box domain containing protein 5 (UBOX5), also known as RING finger protein 37 (RNF37), is an E3 ubiquitin ligase containing both U-box and RING-type zinc finger domains. It interacts with E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes and catalyzes the transfer of ubiquitin, thereby playing a role in polyubiquitination and protein degradation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. UBOX5 is widely expressed and may participate in cell regulatory pathways through its involvement in the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
