Overview

RNU6-70P is a pseudogene derived from the sequence of U6 small nuclear RNA, a core component of the spliceosome responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells[1][3]. While the canonical U6 snRNA is essential for catalysis within the spliceosome and exhibits diverse post-transcriptional modifications[1], pseudogenes like RNU6-70P are formed by retrotransposition and do not encode functional RNAs or proteins[3]. Pseudogenes can be used to study retrotransposition and genome evolution, but do not have direct biological or therapeutic functions. Thus, RNU6-70P is not considered a functional or pharmacologic target[3]. If you require information about functional U6 small nuclear RNA, it is a critical RNA molecule in RNA splicing and is not a receptor, enzyme, or druggable target, but rather a catalytic RNA element of the spliceosome[1]. RNU6-70P, however, is just a non-functional genomic remnant with no evidence of medical targeting or drug interaction.
