UBAC2 antisense RNA 1 (UBAC2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand of the UBAC2 gene locus on chromosome 13q32.3[2][3][8][9]. As a non-coding RNA, it does not produce a protein product. UBAC2-AS1 is implicated in the regulation of gene expression at the RNA level, possibly by binding target RNA sequences or interacting with protein partners[6]. UBAC2-AS1 has been identified as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in several cancers, including clear cell kidney carcinoma[7]. Its dysregulation has been associated with cancer cell proliferation and survival, possibly through mechanisms involving competing endogenous RNA networks and co-expression with oncogenic or tumor-suppressive factors[7]. It has also been linked to lip cancer and glioma susceptibility[3]. The specific molecular partners and pathways remain under exploration, but its regulatory function and disease associations have been reproducibly observed in multiple studies[7][3][6]. No direct drug interactions or targeted therapeutic agents have been reported to date.
