As such, it has no known role in protein function, biological pathways, or disease processes, unlike its functional counterpart UBE2F. UBE2FP3 is not considered a therapeutic target and does not serve as an actionable or druggable biomolecule in any known context. Pseudogenes do not have well-defined biological functions. The functional gene UBE2F is involved in protein neddylation, but UBE2FP3 does not encode a functional product. No validated disease role for UBE2FP3. Disease associations pertain to the functional UBE2F gene, not to UBE2FP3. The functional E2 F gene (UBE2F) is sometimes overexpressed in cancers and has roles in protein neddylation and related signaling; however, UBE2FP3 does not share these functional properties.
