Target intelligence / Profile preview
UBE2Q2 pseudogene 5, Y-linked (UBE2Q2P5Y) is a Y chromosome–encoded pseudogene related to the functional UBE2Q2 gene, a member of the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 Q2 family. Pseudogenes such as UBE2Q2P5Y do not code for functional proteins and have no recognized role as drug targets, biomarkers, or functional contributors to cellular or disease processes. Confusion can occur with the functional protein-coding UBE2Q2 gene, which is linked to protein ubiquitination and various cellular functions, but UBE2Q2P5Y is non-functional and not involved in these processes
None; no known mechanisms because it is not a functional protein/product
