Target intelligence / Profile preview
UBE2V1 pseudogene 2 (UBE2V1P2) is a non-coding segment of DNA that resembles the sequence of the UBE2V1 gene but lacks the ability to produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes like UBE2V1P2 can arise through duplication or retrotransposition events, and while they share sequence homology with protein-coding genes, they do not contribute directly to cellular function; currently, there is no evidence that UBE2V1P2 plays a regulatory or pathological role in human biology. UBE2V1P2 should not be confused with UBE2V1, which is an active gene involved in ubiquitination pathways and disease processes[1][3][5].
