Pseudogenes like UBA52P6 are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack protein-coding capability and are generally considered nonfunctional in terms of encoding proteins[2][4]. UBA52P6 does not encode a functional protein and is classified as a non-coding RNA. While recent studies suggest that some pseudogenes might have regulatory roles or be transcribed, there is no clear evidence indicating that UBA52P6 has therapeutic relevance or encodes a functional product[4][6][2]. It has been studied as part of a group of differentially expressed pseudogenes in certain cancers, such as cervical cancer, with potential use as a marker in "cancer/testis" pseudogene panels; however, no direct disease mechanism or drug target association has been established for UBA52P6[5].
