Target intelligence / Profile preview
UBE2CP1 is a human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 C (UBE2C), a member of the E2 family involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Unlike UBE2C, UBE2CP1 does not encode a functional enzyme and is not considered to have biological activity or therapeutic relevance. The ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes play critical roles in post-translational modification of proteins, regulating cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and other essential cellular processes. However, UBE2CP1 itself lacks these functions and is not involved in known physiological or pathological processes.
