Overview

UBE2CP5 (ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 C pseudogene 5) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene assigned within the human genome, related in sequence to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 C (UBE2C). Unlike functional enzymes, UBE2CP5 does not produce a protein product and has no known direct biological function, clinical relevance, or therapeutic targeting potential. Pseudogenes such as UBE2CP5 are sometimes remnants of gene duplication events and may have lost their protein-coding ability due to mutations. There is currently no evidence supporting any functional, regulatory, or clinical role for UBE2CP5.
