Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 K (UBE2K)

Target
UBE2K
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2)
01

Overview

Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 K (UBE2K) is an E2 ubiquitin ligase involved in the ubiquitination pathway, specifically the synthesis of Lys48-linked polyubiquitin chains, targeting proteins for proteasomal degradation. It participates in ERAD, DNA damage repair, apoptosis regulation, and other cellular processes. UBE2K interacts with proteins like Huntingtin (HTT) and RNF2. Aberrant UBE2K activity has been implicated in cancer progression and neurodegenerative diseases.
