Ubiquitin D pseudogene 1 (UBDP1) is an unprocessed pseudogene located on chromosome 6p22.1, derived from the parental gene ubiquitin D. Pseudogenes such as UBDP1 do not encode functional proteins due to their accumulation of disabling mutations, although some pseudogenes may be transcribed and potentially regulate gene expression at the RNA level. There is no evidence for UBDP1 producing a functional protein, acting as a receptor, or directly participating in disease pathways, and it is not considered a therapeutic target. Its main significance is as a genomic element related to the ubiquitin gene family. In summary, UBDP1 is a genomic pseudogene without recognized biological activity, disease role, drug interactions, or use as a therapeutic target.
