Ubiquitin like 5 pseudogene 3 (UBL5P3) is a human pseudogene located on the genome and annotated by NCBI Gene ID 100129031[2][4][5]. A pseudogene is a DNA segment that closely resembles a functional gene but is disabled by mutations such as indels (insertions or deletions), premature stop codons, or frame shifts, preventing the synthesis of functional protein[6]. Most pseudogenes, including UBL5P3, arise from gene duplication or reverse transcription of mRNA and subsequent integration, but lack regulatory sequence or accumulate disabling mutations. While some pseudogenes have regulatory roles through their transcripts, there is currently no evidence that UBL5P3 is transcribed or has such functional impact[2][3][6]. As such, UBL5P3 is not considered a drug target or biomarker, and does not participate in cellular signaling or disease pathways.
