Overview

UBL7 antisense RNA 1 (UBL7-AS1), also referred to as UBL7-DT or UBL7 divergent transcript, is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located in an antisense orientation to the UBL7 gene. It does not encode a protein and is not itself a well-characterized therapeutic target. UBL7-AS1 has been predicted, using bioinformatic models, to participate in key biological processes such as cell proliferation and possibly cell cycle control, and shows functional clustering with other lncRNAs implicated in cancer development. Experimental evidence for the molecular mechanisms or disease associations of UBL7-AS1 remains limited at present[3].
