UDP glucuronosyltransferase family 1 member A11, pseudogene (UGT1A11P)

Target
UGT1A11P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Other (not an active enzyme, receptor, or transporter)
01

Overview

UDP glucuronosyltransferase family 1 member A11, pseudogene (UGT1A11P) is a non-coding sequence in the human genome located within the UGT1 gene complex. It resembles coding UGT genes but contains disabling mutations preventing it from producing a functional UDP-glucuronosyltransferase enzyme. As a pseudogene, it does not participate in glucuronidation, a metabolic pathway essential for drug and xenobiotic metabolism. UGT1A11P is best considered a piece of non-functional genomic DNA without known biological or clinical relevance[5].
