Overview

UDP glucuronosyltransferase family 2 member B26, pseudogene (UGT2B26P), is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to known genes but are non-functional due to mutations or incomplete coding potential. UGT2B26P is annotated as a related sequence to the UGT2B family, which consists of enzymes responsible for glucuronidation reactions in detoxification and metabolism. However, UGT2B26P itself does not produce a functional protein and therefore has no direct role in metabolic processes, drug action, or disease pathogenesis[5]. There is no evidence that UGT2B26P acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other major drug target class[5]. As a pseudogene, it lacks known interacting drugs, therapeutic relevance, or established biomarker status.
