UDP-N-acetylglucosamine pyrophosphorylase 1-like 1 (UAP1L1) is an enzyme paralogous to UDP-N-acetylglucosamine pyrophosphorylase 1 (UAP1), involved in catalyzing an essential step in the biosynthesis of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine, a precursor for glycoprotein and glycolipid production. The enzyme is implicated in metabolic processes and may have roles in protein pyrophosphorylation and innate immunity. Familial associations suggest potential involvement in inherited metabolic disorders and cancer via related pathways, but direct roles for UAP1L1 remain less defined. Note: Direct information on UAP1L1 is sparse; most functional data are derived from its paralog UAP1, which is better characterized. No drug interactions, mechanisms, biomarkers, or safety concerns have been directly reported for UAP1L1 in the literature.
