Overview

Ultraviolet radiation (UV) is a form of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from 100 to 400 nanometers (nm). It is divided into UVA, UVB, and UVC bands. UV radiation interacts with organic molecules, causing DNA damage, skin effects like sunburn and photoaging, and can increase the risk of skin cancer and cataracts. Artificially generated UVC has applications in sterilization.
