Uncoordinated 51-like kinase 4 (URLC10)

Target
URLC10
Molecular classification
GPI-linked surface glycoprotein, Ly6/uPAR superfamily member, Cancer-testis antigen
01

Overview

Uncoordinated 51-like kinase 4 (URLC10), also known as Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus K (LY6K), is a GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein belonging to the Ly6/uPAR superfamily. It exhibits restricted normal tissue expression (primarily testis) and is frequently upregulated in various cancers, making it a cancer-testis antigen. LY6K plays roles in cell growth regulation, sperm motility, and tumorigenesis by promoting cancer cell proliferation and potentially contributing to immune evasion. It is a therapeutic target for peptide vaccines aimed at inducing cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against tumor cells.
