Overview

Undisclosed Pfizer-selected oncology target 2 is a novel immuno-oncology target identified through a strategic collaboration between Pfizer and BioInvent. It was discovered using the F.I.R.S.T™ platform, which screens for antibodies that can functionally modulate the immune system within the tumor microenvironment. The target is specifically expressed on tumor-associated myeloid cells (TAMs), which are key drivers of immune evasion in various cancers. By targeting this molecule, therapeutic antibodies aim to either deplete these immunosuppressive cells or 're-educate' them to promote an active anti-tumor immune response. This approach is intended to overcome resistance to current checkpoint inhibitors and provide new treatment options for patients with solid and hematological tumors.
