Additionally, the virus must counteract host restriction factors such as SAMHD1 and the Mre11-Rad50-Nbs1 (MRN) complex, often through proteasomal degradation mediated by viral early proteins like E1B-55K and E4orf6. Understanding these host-virus interactions is critical for developing novel antiviral therapies and improving adenovirus-based gene delivery vectors.
