The "Unknown novel inflammation checkpoint" is a first-in-class therapeutic target identified by Nucleome Therapeutics as a master orchestrator of inflammation resolution. In patients with autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), this mechanism becomes dysregulated, leading to persistent and unresolved inflammation. Therapeutic intervention with agonist monoclonal antibodies, such as NTP464, is designed to stimulate this checkpoint to actively resolve inflammation, offering a novel principle in immunology that moves beyond traditional immunosuppression.
