Target intelligence / Profile preview
LY6K is a GPI-anchored protein belonging to the Ly6/uPAR superfamily. It is highly expressed in testis and is crucial for male fertility. LY6K is also strongly upregulated in various cancers, including lung cancer and glioblastoma, promoting tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, and immune evasion. It enhances ERK1/2 signaling via interaction with caveolin-1. LY6K is considered a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for several cancers due to its upregulation correlating with disease progression and poor prognosis.
Inhibition of directed migration of tumor cells; Modulation of immune checkpoints (PD-L1/PD-1); Interference with ERK1/2 signaling
